We run a range of clinics. For an appointment or further details, please call the surgery on 0161 304 8009.
Antenatal - Thursday 09.30 -16.30
These clinics are run by the midwives. If you become pregnant, you will be given a “booking appointment” which lasts approximately 1 hour at which the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice or at the hospital, or both.
Postnatal - Wednesday 14:30 – 15:30
Dr Long runs the postnatal clinic. You will be invited by post to attend the clinic and to bring your baby with you for the 8 week check.
Child Health Immunisations - Tuesdays 13.30 – 16:00
All children registered with the practice will be invited to attend for routine immunisations. This clinic is run by our practice nurse and is by appointment only.
Minor Surgery, Contraceptive Implant Fitting
Minor operations, coil fittings and contraceptive implants are performed in our surgery. Please discuss this with your doctor/practice nurse who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.
Led by the GP’s and our nursing team. These clinics offer advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes. Alongside this clinic the podiatrist runs a surgery on Thursday mornings
Health Care Assistant Clinics
Our HCA’s offer appointments for NHS health checks, well person health checks, management, support and advice for patients in stopping smoking as well as providing blood pressure checks and routine blood tests.
Other services offered include cervical cytology, anti-coagulation and counselling,
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
We are not a registered yellow fever centre and if this vaccination is required you will be directed to the nearest centre for advice.
Please allow at least eight weeks before you travel. Some vaccines require more than one dose and will not be effective until 2 weeks after the final dose.
Some travel vaccines are not provided by the NHS and will therefore be on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
